8.10 p.m.
Dear All.
We left B’ham 3.5 about, & arrived here about 6.30. Received 4 blankets 2 sheets, pillow, mug, [deleted] cu [/deleted] fork, spoon knife. Had good dinner then made beds. No definite address yet so don’t write. Move into another block to-morrow till we finish. Writing this a [deleted] mess [/deleted] canteen room. Piano, tables, billiards, skittles, snooker, table tennis ‘& stinky bar’ chocolates etc. Will write more fully to-morrow. Bed 9.30. Kiss Barb. & Jean for me! 40 odd from B’ham with me to-day Give love to MA SHIPPO. Brought no writing stuff, have got stamps. Well I will close hope [deleted] I [/deleted] you’re all O.K. [underlined] NOT [/underlined] homesick yet!! Geoff.
